Jon Gibson Company has a relatively small local operation. By utilizing new and innovative software and technology solutions this allows the company to house their Financial, Human Resources, and IT departments off-site. Jon Gibson Company is a tight-knit team comprised of like-minded individuals with a passion for perfection and a unilateral drive for success. Every member of the team plays a diverse and integral role, balancing time between for-profit business ventures and philanthropic efforts that the company remains passionate about.

Jon Gibson
President

Jon Gibson, President of Jon Gibson Company and former U.S. Air Force Pilot, is a real estate developer who has developed residential and business properties covering more than 1,000 acres in eight cities over the last 38+ years.  Though the company initially focused on commercial projects, it has planned residential subdivisions to accommodate over 2,000 homes in the Sacramento Valley. The company changed its focus over the years from developing its own properties to the acquisition of existing retirement and multi-family communities in Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. 

Jon and Marylois, his wife of over 50 years, possess the hearts of philanthropists, and a passion to preserve the traditional family. They care deeply about helping "at-risk" youth reach their full potential.  They are the proud parents of two incredible children and eight of the brightest and best grandchildren! Jon and Marylois divide their time between their home in the Sierra foothills east of Sacramento and their ranch in Wyoming. 

Marcus Gibson
Senior Vice-President

Marcus was born and raised in the Sacramento area. He obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. After graduation, Marcus turned his internship into a full-time position with Sandia National Laboratories as a Nuclear Weapons Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer.  After 5 years of living in the east bay area, in 2009, Marcus became a full-time telecommuter and moved back to the slower pace of the foothills.  Since that time, Marcus has become the very proud father of five wonderful children.  Marcus joined Jon Gibson Company in 2011 on a part-time basis to learn about and help the business where appropriate.  While still maintaining his career with Sandia, Marcus has been involved in a variety of activities with JGC from IT needs to new investment opportunities ranging from oil drilling to technology startups.

Sarah Mestanza
Chief Operations Officer
California

Sarah Mestanza, a native of Vancouver, Canada moved to the Hawaiian Islands after attending the University of British Columbia. Seeking warmth and adventure she moved to Maui. Over the 16 years spent on the islands, she would prove her abilities as a creative, and hardworking business owner. From wedding coordinator to graphic designer and publisher of the Maui Real Estate Property Guide magazine, Sarah knows what it takes to run a business with Aloha. Sarah & her husband sought out and invested in several properties throughout Maui and The Big Island of Hawaii, taking on the roles of a general contractor, landlord, property manager, and hands-on laborer when needed! Seeking better educational opportunities, closeness to family, and more outdoor activities, the decision was made to move to Northern California. (And yes, she does miss the ocean.) Her husband passed away from cancer, leaving Sarah to raise two teenagers, and balance her career and personal interests. She is incredibly proud of her young adult children as they make their way in the world. A true adventurer, she loves traveling, river rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, OneWheeling, hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, and taking and sharing LOTS of photos. Sarah devotes time bringing people together to form a strong sense of community and helping others. She's passionate about fostering good networks of people, and creating connections that support and uplift each other. She is thrilled to work for a company whose operational philosophy states "we will treat each other, our customers, vendors and ourselves with respect and genuine concern for our well-being."  Sarah joined the team in January of 2015 and has become an integral part of Jon Gibson Company's success.

Jan Schauer
Senior Administrative Specialist

Jan grew up in the Bay Area of Northern California and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from California State University, Sacramento in 1995. She later put down roots in the Sacramento Valley, where she and her husband started a family and welcomed two children. After his unexpected passing, Jan poured her heart into raising her boys, balancing a packed schedule filled with church activities, sports, and family events. Jan's zest for life shines through her passions: art, travel, baseball, gardening, and family. With a camera always in hand, she’s an avid photographer who loves capturing nature’s beauty and preserving family memories. In the summer of 2024, Jan found love again and joyfully expanded her family, embracing three more children. She’s thriving in her new chapter and loving life as part of a big, bustling household!

Jan became a valued member of the Jon Gibson Company Team in 2021. Known for her dedication and versatility, she’s taken on a variety of tasks that help keep daily operations running smoothly. She looks forward to continuing to grow in her career in an environment that values integrity and strong family bonds.

Dale Metzger

Dale Metzger was raised in the beautiful Black Hills in Lead South Dakota. He joined the Parkwood Management team in 2009, serving as the COO for Washington. Dale oversees the operation of PARKWOOD Manufactured Housing Community serving 360 residents. Dale also oversees the subsidiary "Northwestern Ventures" in land acquisition, subdivision development, and acquisition and sales of manufactured homes. Dale’s leadership and management expertise are what help distinguish Parkwood as a leader in quality living and service.

Laurie Thomas

Laurie grew up in the heart of Alaska, near Fairbanks, and spent her childhood in the charming town of North Pole—yes,

the very place where kids' letters to Santa Claus end up at the local post office! With a rich background in office operations, event planning, and project management, Laurie has also explored her creative side by owning a wedding and event floral business for six years. Her love of flowers and natural talent for design and color shines through in all she does. Laurie’s education and adventures have taken her to Texas, Japan, and the University of Washington, fueling her passion for travel and discovery. She’s already explored much of the world and is excited to visit even more destinations. Laurie has a 21-year-old son and has lived in the greater Seattle area since 1987, spending two decades in Snoqualmie. About three years ago, she moved to the beautiful town of Sequim and recently remarried. When she’s not traveling, Laurie loves spending time outdoors, whether on the water or hiking in the woods. She’s an avid reader and flower arranger and enjoys camping, biking, walking, and playing games with friends and family. Her warmth and optimism are reflected in her favorite quote by Joseph Addison: “What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable.” Laurie is quick to smile, always ready to share a laugh.
